New student restaurant opened in Kopilica

The student restaurant S.O.S., within University Department of Professional Studies, was officially opened on September 27. University of Split, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., opened the restaurant, pointing out that the motto "students, students, students" gains importance with such projects. He emphasized that a "small campus" is being formed in Kopilica and that it was very important for students to be able to eat healthy. He thanked Split Student Center for realizing the project, saying that the University is working to make Split a student city.

Modernly designed restaurant covers ​​300 square meters and has 115 seats. It’s kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, which will result in better quality of food, Ivan Žižić, Student Center director said, noting that the restaurant’s name is special because it was chosen by students, in a competition.

This is an investment worth slightly more than 700,000 euros, special because it is one of few restaurants in Split adapted for people with disabilities - director Žižić stated.

The opening was attended by numerous guests - vice-rectors prof. Boris Maleš Ph.D., prof. Nikša Jajac Ph.D., prof. Zoran Đogaš Ph.D., Deputy Prefect of Split-Dalmatia Stipe Čogelja, President of the Split City Council prof. Željko Domazet Ph.D., Petar Pepur Ph.D., head of University Department for Professional Studies, with colleagues and representatives of collaborating institutions, scientific, cultural and other.
