"DEVELOPING CAPACITIES TOGETHER. EUROPEAN CSO-UNIVERSITY NETWORKS FOR GLOBAL LEARNING ON MIGRATION, SECURITY INCLUSIVENESS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN AN INTERDEPENDENT WORLD – INTERCAP"
Project applicant: University of Split
Project partner: Faculty of Humanities and Social Science
Short description of the project: Terrorism and extremist ideology are, globally, increasingly being recognized as security challenges. This attitude negatively affects the promotion of further cooperation between the EU and developing countries to a large number of EU citizens, which presents a barrier to achieving the goals of sustainable development. The InterCap project, funded by Europe Aid, deals with the growing concern about the way public perceptions of security (or lack there of) and risks, impact on understanding migration, sustainable development, accountability and EU citizens lifestyle in the interdependent world changes.
Objectives and expected results: Actions priority is establishing the European network of civil society and Universities, with the aim of capacity building of participants in education, promoting global learning on migration, security and sustainable development in the interdependent world.
The project aims to increase the critical understanding of migration and sustainable development, in the context of sustainable development goals, among stakeholders in the teacher education system, in order to increase understanding of the relationships between the world, (non-) security and risk.
More specifically, by the project’s end, the InterCap partners are committed to:
Secure coherence and consistency in providing education for development, in topics of migration, sustainable development and the interdependence across local and global contexts.
Increase competencies in education for development among civil societies and university teacher trainers.
Increase the availability of quality contents and methods of critical education for the development of teacher training.
Project implementation period: November 2017 - October 2020
