Winning story - Roberto Cammarelle

On October 21, 2022, the famous Italian boxer, Roberto Cammarelle, gave a lecture to Split students in the Faculty of Kinesiology’s amphitheatre.

The lecture KIF organized in cooperation with Croatian Boxing Federation, was attended by prof. Damir Sekulić Ph.D., KIF’s dean, general Mladen Mikolčević, Boxing Federation’s vice-president and member of the world boxing federation IBA’s national commission, Jurica Runtić, president of the Boxing Federation’s supervisory board and director of IBA’s marketing commission, Antonio Kuzmanić, Deputy Mayor of Split, Maja Medić, Italy’s Honorary Consul in Split, Michele and Carmine Cirillo, Italian boxing team coaches.

In his presentation, three-time Olympic medallist and two-time super heavyweight world champion, Roberto Cammarelle, talked about his rich sports career and interesting experiences during training and competing.

- Every disappointment would give me new strength to train and work even harder because I never gave up on my dreams - Cammarelle said, probably inspiring young athletes who came to listen to his life success story.

Cammarelle is the director of Italy’s boxing selection and has been, since 2017, a member of Italian Olympic Committee’s Council (CONI). He enjoys a great reputation in his country and is a member of Italian State Police (Polizia di Stato). He is one of Italian sports greats, an undisputed authority and a role model for younger boxers.
