University of Split held one-day online workshop "SEA EU goes digital"

The University of Split held an online one-day workshop "SEA EU goes digital" for SEA-EU and other partners on November 3. Prof. Dragan Ljutić, PhD, Rector of the University of Split, greeted all participants in the workshop and the discussed topics were the following: Digital solutions supporting the development of higher education policy; Introduction to and the implementation of EDSC; Erasmus Dashboard, OLA, IIAM, Europass tools and the European Student Card: Université de Bretagne Occidentale: experience in implementing ESC.

Rector prof. Dragan Ljutić PhD presented the University of Split, as well as tasks within the alliance European University of the Sea, SEA-EU. Rector Ljutić emphasized the sheer number of study programs at the University of Split, as well as in other cities of the Split-Dalmatia County, such as Hospitality and Gastronomy in Makarska and Mediterranean Agriculture in Sinj. Talking about the SEA-EU alliance, Rector Ljutić pointed out its maritime orientation and importance of the European diploma in the context the exchange of students, professors and other employees’ mobility. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic put a stop to physical mobility, but despite that, ties between the six universities in the alliance remain strong.

- Our University’s main task is its connection to the local community and providing different studies to all interested in continuing their education. Our package within the alliance covers the connection between education, knowledge and research with our County’s economy - said Rector Ljutić, expressing satisfaction with the University of Split’s good placement of on several world scientific rankings.

According to the project proposal (Task 2.4), the three-year goal of the SEA EU alliance is to improve and implement the Europass Digitally-Signed Credential Framework. Also, our ten-year vision is to develop, promote and expand the said Framework as a key digital tool for higher education. In addition to the commitment to test and implement the Europass Digitally-Signed Credential Framework (DSC), we will also accept the results of the Erasmus Without Paper program, as well as test and implement all initiatives related to digitization, such as the Network Learning Agreement and Erasmus+ mobile applications, EMREX.
