Successfully completed project "Internationalization of Study Programs Marine Fisheries and Military Naval Studies at University of Split"

The University of Split, together with partners: the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split, the Faculty of Philosophy in Split and the University Library in Split, and in cooperation with the University Department of Maritime Studies and the Croatian Military Academy, has successfully implemented the project aimed at internationalizing study programs Marine Fisheries and Military Naval Studies. Two new study programs in English were developed in Split, graduate study of Marine Fisheries and integrated Military Navy study.

Students who have completed a three-year undergraduate study (180 ECTS) in related fields of study can enrol the graduate study of Marine Fisheries. An important part of this study are traineeships, in form of field work, that take place on fishing vessels, visits to hatcheries and fish farms, as well as fish processing plants.

Integrated undergraduate and graduate study program Military Naval Studies lasts for five years, or 10 semesters, and has two majors "Army Navigation" and "Marine Engineering". In addition to theoretical knowledge, within this study, students can go on traineeships organized on campus and camps on military training grounds, while navigation traineeships are performed on Croatian Navy’ ships. The program enables students to acquire knowledge, skills and competencies in line with international military norms, particularly NATO/EU standards, which presents an opportunity for future professional development in the military and civilian maritime sector.

Total value of the project is HRK 1,750,274.03, and it was co-financed by the European Social Fund.
