Project activities "Improving Security Governance through Implementation of Forensic Science in State Institutions and Agencies"

Employees of the University Department of Forensic Sciences, in partnership with RACVIAC, hosted a conference on introducing project activities entitled "Improving Security Governance through Implementation of Forensic Science in State Institutions and Agencies". We thank RACVIAC for excellent partnership and cooperation, and full statement about these activities is available at https://www.racviac.org/elementor-12277/

RACVIAC organized an "Online Conference on Introducing Project Activities" which took place February 16, 2023, albeit via Video Tele Conference System (VTCS), in partnership with University of Split’s Department of Forensic Sciences. This is the first event in a five-year series of projects initiated by RACVIAC and the University of Split’s Department of Forensic Sciences, entitled "Improving security management through the implementation of forensic sciences in state institutions and agencies". Project’s Memorandum of understanding was signed September 28, 2022.

RACVIAC determined that these Project activities would be implemented during next four (4) years in close cooperation with its partner, University of Split. Said activities are included in RACVIAC program 2023, which is implemented now, and will continue to be included in future annual programs 2023-2026. Involving the academic community was seen as added value, so it was encouraged in developing future RACVIAC projects.

The conference consisted of four panels:

"Money laundering - where theory meets practice",

"Artificial Intelligence - Deadly Autonomous Weapon Systems",

"Forensics and technical conditions in firefighting, with an emphasis on wild (forest) fires" (three-day workshop)

"Future Directions in Fire Investigation" (three-day workshop).

This RACVIAC project for South East Europe was developed in close cooperation with representatives of our member states from the region, in order to support their policy priorities in areas of forensics, home affairs, security, justice, corruption, investigation and artificial intelligence.
