His expertise is precisely oceanography; oceanographic research, marine predictions and observations.
About the lecture:

Operational oceanography in the new decade is conditioned by multidisciplinary, spatially dispersed, long-term, real-time marine data, and information is expected to trigger an unprecedented leap in the economic value of ocean data. This brings a pattern change in our perception of marine data value, information and knowledge for marine resource management, providing direct benefits to many sectors in industry and services such as maritime transport, safety and public health.
