Last Friday, September 17, University gallery “Vasko Lipovac” opened the exhibition Our Sensations by a multimedia artist from Varaždin Jasmina Jakopanec.

Our Sensations is a project consisting of four works: "Our Memories", "Musical Game", "A day in Rijeka", "A Moment of Feeling". "Our Memories" has as a motive the sense of cold and tries to create the impression of cold, together with water, with abstract paintings and music. Art installation "Musical Game" highlights advantages and disadvantages of two different media: images and videos, but also the different experiences of the participants. The sound installation "A day in Rijeka" slowly introduces participants into a kind of meditation, and "Moment of Feeling" was created when the artist was researching ideasthesia and synesthesia, and herself experienced a moment inspired by music and words.

The exhibition Our Sensations will be on view until September 30, during the Gallery's working hours, 9 to 12 am and 5 to 8 pm.

Jasmina Jakopanec was born in 1992 in Varaždin. In 2017, she obtained a master's degree in applied arts at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. She won several awards, diplomas and letters of thanks, the most significant of which are Rector's Award for Best Artistic Work and Academy’s Award for Best Work in New Media 2016. She participated in several art residencies and art colonies. Jakopanec exhibits his works in solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. She is a member of The Croatian Association of Visual Artists (HDLU) and HDLU Varaždin.
