Establishing the SEA-EU’s Observatory for Sustainable Blue Growth

University of Split hosted a two-day SEA-EU Alliance meeting on Establishing the SEA-EU Observatory for Sustainable Blue Growth.

First day of the meeting, attended by the host and partners from universities of Cadiz, Gdansk and Malta, was dedicated to the topics of drafting the White Paper on Sustainable Jobs in the Future and mapping blue economy. Prof. Leandra Vranješ Markić, University of Split’s Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, opened the meeting and presented the University of Split. After her introduction, prof. Srećko Goić Ph.D. and assist. prof. Slađana Pavlinović Mršić Ph.D., experts from the School of Economics in Split, in charge of establishing the Observatory.

On the second day, the expert group goes on a field trip to the island of Brač, the factory "Sardine", and get acquainted with examples of good practice in sustainable tourism, as one of the elements of sustainable blue development. Although not all partners were able to attend the physical meeting, due to the global pandemic, other partners in the Alliance participated in the meeting virtually.
