Hack4Split 2022

The social hackathon Hack4Split took place in the SPINIT incubator on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10, 2022. It is a two-day competition aimed at solving social problems and designing social innovations. It brings together individuals with specific knowledge, regardless of their education or occupations, who can solve problems in their local community, in line with UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The competition aims to encourage young people to become active members in their community, to get acquainted with the their community’s needs and problems, as well as the environment, and get engaged in solving them.

52 participants attended this year's edition and formed 10 teams that developed ideas such as applications to identify marine organisms, to facilitate afforestation that would absorb CO2 emissions, safe houses for victims of violence, application to solve the problem of long waiting lists in hospitals and others.

Hackathon was organized by the Entrepreneurship Centre Split and Faculty of Economics’ Student Entrepreneurship Incubator, in partnership with Ensoco, Digital Nomad Association Croatia and Split Tech City. It is part of a project funded by EU’s European Solidarity Force and the Central State Office for Demography and Youth.
