Medical students in English graduation ceremony was held September 16 in the Split School of Medicine’s large amphitheatre. This is the first generation of graduates from Germany who were educated in Split, as part of the collaboration Split’s School of Medicine - REGIOMED Medical School from Bavaria.
Along with graduated students and this ceremony’s hosts: prof. Ante Tonkić Ph.D., School of Medicine’s dean and vice-deans assoc. prof. Ivan Galić Ph.D., prof. Katarina Vukojević Ph.D. and prof. Darko Modun Ph.D.; prof. Tomislav Kilić Ph.D., University of Split’s vice-rector, prof. Zoran Đogaš Ph.D., former School of Medicine’s dean, prof. Dragan Primorac Ph.D., president of St. Katarina Hospital’s Board of Directors, prof. Dr. Johannes Brachmann, REGIOMED Medical School’s director, an institution with which Split’s School of Medicine has long and successful cooperation, Tomislav Đonlić, head of Split-Dalmatia County’s Administration for Education, Culture, Technical Culture and Sports, Slavko Žaja, City of Split’s representative, assoc. prof. Željka Karin Ph.D., Teaching Institute for Public Health’s director, and numerous other guests attended.
- Although our faculty is relatively young, it is already renowned both here and abroad - said Dean Tonkić, adding that their colleagues who work in prestigious clinics throughout the USA, as well as the European Union, also contribute to this. He particularly noted the successful cooperation with REGIOMED Clinics, saying that many important goals have been achieved in the past 6 years of their cooperation.
Prof. Brachmann recalled the very beginnings of the collaboration that began in 2016, noting that in addition to a business relationship they also built friendships. He told students to apply their knowledge to the benefit of their patients, who will surely give them their trust. Professor Primorac thanked everyone who over the years led to the fact that today these young people represent this School and the University of Split in the best light, all over the world. He told former students that the future belongs to those who dream big.
- You have the opportunity to become leaders, but no matter what you do in life, never forget about Split, this School and University - prof. Primorac concluded.
Chiara Klusmeier and Fritz Muller addressed their fellow students with emotional speeches, recalling happy moments during their studies, thanking their families and, in a special way, the School of Medicine and its professors.
