"Friends of Health" team won in UniStart’s student entrepreneurship program grand finals

UniStart grand finals, implemented by the University of Split with the support of the NetHub accelerator, took place June 20, 2022, on the premises of ICT County’s pre-incubator (PICS@FESB).

The "Friends of Health" team, consisting of students Iva Klarić (FGAG), Jelena Ležaja (FESB) and Martina Tomić (MEFST) won the first place. These ambitious students developed a prototype of the interactive panel "ZdravKo", fully adapted to daily assisting the elderly with the aim of solving problems involved in their integration in society. Second place went to "SmartUp", consistsing of Mia Kovačević Žižić, Nikola Martinić, Anamarija Kolimbatović, Ivan Gluščević and Valentina Drmić. They developed the mobile application "Angelo app" in order to help connect volunteers with the elderly.

At the event’s beginning, students and their mentors were addressed their speeches by prof. Goran Kardum Ph.D., University of Split’s vice-rector, prof. Katarina Vukojević Ph.D., Split’s School of Medicine’s vice dean and prof. Nikša Jajac Ph.D., Split’s Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy’s dean, emphasizing that regardless of the outcome, all teams were winners because of the great knowledge and experience they gained during this program.

At the very end, students gladly emphasized how extremely satisfied they were with the realized program, pointing out that in addition to new skills and experience, they also gained new friends and realized cooperation with students from other faculties.
