University of Split’s ceremonial promotion of PhDs took place on Tuesday, June 13, in the Three Faculties Building’s large amphitheatre. A total of 63 new PhDs from 10 faculties were promoted.

University’s Vice-Chancellors, Senate members, as well as numerous guests, family and friends of those promoted, City of Split’s representative, Slavko Žaja, Senior Advisor for Education, Science and Technical Culture, attended the ceremony.

Prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split rector, gave a speech, congratulating promoted students on their great success, emphasized that this day celebrated knowledge.

He pointed out that this high number of PhDs represents University’ strength and told them that our doors are always open to them. Rector Ljutić specifically referred to the fact that there is no progress in society without education, and he told promoted students that European University of Sea Alliance, of which University of Split is a member, also offers great opportunities when it comes to research and networking with colleagues from abroad.
