"Developing, improving and implementing traineeships at School of Medicine in Split"

The project "Developing, improving and implementing traineeships at School of Medicine in Split", co-financed by EU’s European Social Fund, was presented on Tuesday, March 7, in School of Medicine’s hall. Prof. Katarina Vukojević Ph.D., Vice-dean for science, postgraduate studies and international cooperation, prof. Renata Pecotić Ph.D., Vice-dean for teaching and student affairs and assoc. prof. Ivica Bilić Ph.D. attended the presentation.

According to Vice-dean Vukojević, the project improved the curriculum or learning outcomes and course goals.

This project’s goal of is to improve traineeship in all this faculty’s study programs, and the need for this arose during the pandemic, when all medical faculties, both in Croatia and the world, faced the fact that it was almost impossible to practice practical skills on patients in hospitals or teaching bases. Learning and practicing working on models, actually preparing for work with patients, is necessary. The space and equipment where students previously practiced their skills was too small for a large number of students and now, as part of the project, a new space was equipped and opened - Laboratory for Clinical Skills, and students have the opportunity to move forward in acquiring needed clinical skills, in much better conditions, and prepare for work with our patients, Vice-dean Pecotić pointed out.

The project "Developing, improving and implementing traineeships at School of Medicine in Split", operational program "Effective human resources 2014 - 2020" (UP.03.1.1.04.0070), is implemented by Split School of Medicine, in cooperation with KBC Split as the project partner. Project leader is School of Medicine’s dean, prof. Ante Tonkić Ph.D., and the project’s total value is (in HRK): 3,954,244.63.
