Croatia’s President, Zoran Milanović, held a lecture at the Faculty of Economics

On October 19, 2022, President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, held a lecture on Geopolitics and its consequences for economy in Faculty of Economics’ great amphitheater. The lecture was attended by University of Split’s Vice-rector for science and quality, prof. Igor Jerković Ph.D., Faculty of Economics’ Dean, assoc. prof. Vinko Muštra Ph.D., members of University of Split’s Senate, as well as teachers and numerous students.

Dean Muštra greeted those who were present, as well as Vice-rector Jerković, who referred to University of Split’s successes.

- Today, the University of Split is recognized for its scientific-research and artistic activities, also for its teaching. We are part of the European University of the Sea Alliance, which includes 9 universities. According to the latest rankings (Times Higher Education), University of Split is the best-rated university in Croatia, and it has made a great progress in fields of publishing, quotations, income from business and international cooperation - he pointed out, welcoming President Milanović.

In his presentation, the President talked about current geopolitical situation and how it affects economy. After the lecture, students used the opportunity to ask a series of interesting questions, which President Milanović answered in great detail.

On the same day, President’s Economic Council’s 4th session took place at the Faculty of Economics. At the session, the government's autumn measures to protect households and economy from rising prices was analysed, and economic expectations for 2023 were presented.
