Congratulations to our students on the success they realized designing a system for filtering seawater and purification from micro plastics

We sincerely congratulate our students Antonija Buzov, Petra Kundid, Matej Radić and Andro Rudan on the exceptional success they had with the design of the CBRO system. This young team of our University designed a system for filtrating seawater and purifying it of microplastic, with the option of controlling it remotely, which makes it better and more special than other similar attempts at building-creating such purifiers. Work on the project began in October last year at the Ocean Hackathon competition, which, as well as in Split, took place in 11 other cities across Europe, and aimed to develop innovative ideas related to the sea and coastal areas. The University of Split co-organized this competition for the first time, which brought the team together, and supported it during the competition in the form of advice and guidance in the project.

We are pleased that our students are transferring knowledge and skills acquired during study in lecture halls, into a product that has great potential for widespread use, with an emphasis on the great problem micro plastics poses for the whole world. We are especially pleased with the students’ involvement in environmental protection, their example demonstrating growing awareness of the need to create as little waste as possible and prevent further pollution in our land, air and water, or the sea.

We sincerely congratulate and wish them a lot of success in developing this ecological project!
