Conference "Impact of teachers’ competencies on students' competencies" at Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences

The scientific-professional conference ""Impact of teachers’ competencies on students' competencies" took place March 2, at University of Split’s Faculty of Humanities.

When opening the meeting, on behalf of the Faculty of Humanities, assoc. prof. Ina Reić Ercegovac Ph.D., Vice-dean for teaching and student affairs, greeted everyone, expressing her satisfaction that this meeting brought together colleagues from different University of Split’s components, which proves-demonstrates that the awareness of the importance of teacher competencies has truly been raised.

- I am extremely glad that this meeting is taking place at our University, Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences, which truly is a respectable institution, which represents a temple of humanities and social sciences in Split. Let us not forget that future teachers are trained in this Faculty and this is a tradition of more than 70 years that both this Faculty and the Faculty of Science and Mathematics inherit from the former Higher Pedagogical School - said prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., University of Split’s Vice-rector for students, teaching and business.

The conference is designed as a place of dialogue between educational experts and researchers, about their experiences, challenges and needs in the higher education system, as well as practical work of experts who come from that system and enter educational institutions on all levels.

In the first part of the conference, prof. Ivana Batarelo Kokić Ph.D., prof. emerita Dubravka Miljković Ph.D., prof. Ivanka Živčić Bećirević Ph.D. and assoc. prof. Morana Koludrović Ph.D. held plenary lectures, and its second part was devoted to panel discussions.
