Ceremonial opening of the Hotel Management and Gastronomy study’s building in Makarska

In the presence of Croatia’s Prime Minister, Andrej Plenković, Vice-President of the Parliament, Ante Sanader, Vice-President of Croatian Government and Minister of Defense, Tomo Medved, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Science and Education, Radovan Fuchs Ph.D., Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac Ph.D., University of Split’s Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., Vice-rectors prof. Nikša Jajac Ph.D. and prof. Zoran Đogaš Ph.D., prof. Igor Jerković Ph.D., head of studies, prof. Ivan Pavić Ph.D., Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, Blaženko Boban, Mayor of Makarska, Zoran Paunović, and numerous other guests, a building renovated for the needs of Hotel Management and Gastronomy study in Makarska was officially opened.

This study in Makarska renews the higher education that was there 300 years ago and this is the right message for this city and Dalmatia - said Prime Minister Plenković, praising Split's University for its excellent placement in world rankings.

The reconstruction, renovation and furnishing of the building of Makarska’s Franciscan monastery for the needs of this University of Split’s study is work of a team of architects consisting of Josipa Rogošić and Andrea Dujić, from "Me architect" studio, and the project’s total net value is HRK 7,637,342,99 plus VAT.
