Celebrating the European Maritime Day (In My Country) at the University of Split

The European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) office of the University of Split, together with the Faculty of Maritime Studies, will be celebrating the European Maritime Day (European Maritime Day-In My Country) on October 1, starting at 10:00 with an online webinar.

The webinar will host almost 15 participants, starting from the Faculty of Maritime Studies’ management, representatives of the SEA-EU office to teachers and students on all levels of study. Webinar topics are: Challenges in maritime education, Nautical studies, MARPOL moves forward, Sailing at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Insight into the maritime industry, Technology and challenges in studying/learning, Erasmus + mobility, from a student's perspective, Post-graduate student expectations, the SEA-EU project ...

In addition to the main event marking this day in one city, series of smaller events aiming to promote marine and maritime affairs will be taking place. The Faculty of Maritime Studies and the University of Split have joined this celebratory initiative that covers nearly 50 other events across Europe this year. In the second part of the day, the SEA-EU office will continue to promote this event with a Welcome Day, organized by the University’s Department for International Cooperation, in front of the Three Faculties Building, at 18:00 for all foreign students. As part of the event, the SEA-EU office will, in cooperation with associations Sunce and Oceanus, present video materials showing beautiful nature along our coast, but also the threats that it faces due to people’s negligent behavior towards nature.
