Applications for the Smart City Challenge hackathon

Split Entrepreneurship Centre, together with Faculty of Economics’ Student Entrepreneurship Incubator is organizing the sixth hackathon Smart City Challenge, focused on developing techn solutions based on IoT and smart technologies used in the local community. The hackathon will take place December 3 and 4, 2022 at the SPINIT Incubator. Anyone can apply, regardless of education or profession.

Applications are open until November 27, 2022 via this link. The competition has no upper age limit, and the lower limit is set at 18 years.

Goal of developing technological solutions is their application to improve quality of life in the local community in various sectors (education, health, housing, environment, production, tourism...). Participants will have 24 hours to develop their solutions (prototypes) in one of given challenges: Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes and buildings, smart transportation, smart production, smart environment, smart health, and smart citizens. After the competition, teams will have additional 5 minutes to present their project to the jury. In order to enable competitors develop their ideas into projects in a quality manner, there will be mentors who can provide further guidance with their knowledge and skills. Hackathon Smart City Challenge is implemented as part of the Smart Youth project funded by European Union’s Solidarity Corps.
