In less than a week, the city at the foot of Marjan will become centre of student futsal and host over 700 accredited participants at the European University Championship. While the final details are being organized in halls of Gripe and Poljud, so that everything would be ready to welcome best futsal players, an agreement was signed in order to continue long-term successful partnership between the Split University Sports Association and University of Split’s Student Union.
"Student Union is always there for students and everything that improves student standards and sports. With this in mind, we want to be active promoters of health, activism and everything that will bring positive changes to students of our University", said Jerko Šarić, University of Split’s Student Union President, at the very beginning.
New agreement was not signed only for the upcoming Championship, mainly sponsored by the Union, but also for collaborations during the new academic year, among which UniSport Health stands out. This project enables students attending free recreational sports programs, which encourages movement and physical activity, healthy habits and dealing with everyday stress.
On behalf of Split University Sports Association, this agreement was signed by its president, Šime Veršić: "It is our pleasure to organize the biggest sports event in the city of Split this summer. We are talking about 100 matches to be played in just one week. I would like to thank Student Union for its support in every step of our way to improving the student standard. Cooperation has never disappointed, and we believe that years ahead will only as to this story."
Besides, this cooperation, like the Championship, is the next step in our candidacy for organizing European University Games in 2028. EUG 2028 project is a path towards better and quality student standard.
