Academy of Arts Visual Communication Design Department’s triumph at the Croatian Design Exhibition 21/22

At the Exhibition of Croatian Design 21/22, held in Lauba - House for people and art in Zagreb, Croatian Design Society’s awards and recognitions were awarded to best design works in individual categories, as well as Grand Prize and Lifetime Achievement Award.

International jury was composed of Robert Čanak, Dario Dević, Nataša Njegovanović, Luka Perić, Zlatka Salopek, Juraj Zigman, Ajdin Bašić, Kostas Medugorac and Cvetka Požar.

We are pleased to point out the awards and recognitions won by Academy of Arts in Split’s Visual Communication Design Department’s students and professors:

· Award: Packaging design was awarded for the work Bronhi, by student Luka Grković, created under the mentorship of assoc. prof. art. Ljubica Marčetić Marinović.

· Special recognition: Packaging design was awarded for the work Pizza & Play by student Luka Grković, created under the mentorship of assoc. prof. art. Igor Čaljkušić.

· Award: Design in digital media - interaction design was awarded for Uberi, by student Ivan Vrček, created under the mentorship of assoc. prof. Ivica Mitrović Ph.D. and assoc. art. Oleg Šuran.

· Special recognition in the category of spatial and graphic interventions and systems was awarded to the work Signalization System of the Art Academy’s building in Split, by student Tina Masnić, created under the mentorship of prof. Jelena Zanchi Ph.D.

· Special recognition in the category Concept - initiative - critical design was awarded to Story of agave, by student Alejandra Robles Sosa, created under the mentorship of assoc. prof. Ivica Mitrović Ph.D., prof. art. Dejan Kršić and assoc. art. Oleg Šuran.

The following awards were won in the professional selection:

· Prize in the category of Visual Communication Design was awarded to the work Publications Kunsthalle Wien, by prof. art. Dejan Kršić, in collaboration with designer Lana Grahek.

· In the category Concept - Initiative - critical design, special recognition was awarded to Speculative design - Educational Resource Toolkit, by assoc. prof. Ivica Mitrović Ph.D., assist. prof. art. Oleg Šuran and the project team, which is also one of the SpeculativeEdu project results, financed by Erasmus+.
