A series of events at the DUMP Days IT conference

DUMP Days - one of the most famous and largest IT conference providing students with an ideal opportunity to enter the business world and to network, opened today, May 14. Organized by the Association of Young Developers (DUMP), the jubilee fifth edition of this conference will take place in a hybrid edition, partly at FESB (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture) in Split and partly online, today and tomorrow. As always, it will offer numerous opportunities to exchange knowledge and experience, as well as to create new business connections.

- I am glad that the DUPM Days conference is taking place in Split because Split has an excellent perspective and opportunities for our young people to present both themselves and Split in the IT sector. It just goes to show how important FESB and our University are I will give you the maximum support - said prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split Rector, when opening of the conference. He pointed out that exchanging ideas is important to everyone, especially the University, which has an impact on the local community.
- Unfortunately, this year we could not spend time together and talk. Although our University quickly switched to distance learning, nothing can replace live interaction. But when I see what strength our University has at its disposal, and all the places our young people work at around the world, we can be proud. That is why it is not a coincidence that our University is becoming more important on the world’s university scene - said Rector Ljutić.

Experts will give a series of lectures and panel discussions that visitors will be able to watch online on their laptops from the comfort of their homes. The latest IT trends and technologies will be presented and visitors introduced to topics such as future of marketing, creating their own web-development agencies, challenges someone can encounter when working on one’s own application. Visitors will be able to apply what they have learnt in workshops led by top IT experts.
There will be Fly talks again, short one-to-one conversations between students and employers that provide insight into skills needed to find the ideal job in the IT sector. The difference from previous years is that this will happen in online format.

Finally, a number of companies operating in the region will demonstrate their workplace atmosphere and business culture in showroom and inform visitors on job opportunities, concerning employment or internships.
More details about the conference, watching and attending live events can be found on the DUMP Days website.
A number of companies, including ExtensionEngine, Ericsson Nikola Tesla and Fortuna Entertainment Group, all of them eager to improve the local IT community, supported organization of this conference.
