National Lymphoedema Framework Croatia – Lymph & I, an association created at the University of Split, as a branch of the International Lymphedema Framework (ILF), also the only representative of this international association in our region, and the University of Split’s Department for Health Studies, organized the 1st Croatian lymphedema school which took place September 16-17 2022 in Split.

Hosting the first Croatian Lymphedema School, we are working to achieve one of Croatian National Lymphoedema Framework - Lymph and I Association’s goals, to improve quality of health care, and thus quality of life of those suffering from this chronic disease, in cooperation with all stakeholders in Croatia who in any way deal with or suffer from this disease.

The city of Split had the honour to host the 1st Croatian lymphedema school with international participation, attended by numerous international experts who have been successfully dealing with lymphedema in England, Scotland, Slovenia, and Croatia for many years.

The following colleagues participated in the school, from the University of Glasgow: Margaret Sneddon - president of the British Lymphology Society, Yolande Borthwick - president of Casley Smith Lymphoedema Education UK, Rhian Noble-Jones - president of the British Lymphological Society’s scientific committee and one of the founders of the Casley Smith method, Tamara Košević from London’s Princess Grace Hospital - head of lymphedema therapy, founder and head of the charity organization LIHDA, Tanja Planinšek Ručigaj, head of University Centre in Ljubljana’s Dermatovenerology Clinic, subspecialist lymphologist, president of the Association for Chronic Wounds in Slovenia, Mirna Žulec, head of Polyclinic Marija in Zagreb, dealing with the treatment of chronic wounds, as well as colleagues from University Hospital of Split, the Cochrane Centre and University Department of Health Studies.
