Signed Cooperation agreement with FINA, the Financial Agency

Signing the Cooperation Agreement between University of Split’s Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (PMF), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding (FESB), University Department for Professional Studies (SOSS) with the Financial Agency Fina as a university-industry cooperation – created the opportunity for students of these university components to apply acquired academic knowledge in professional practice.

The contract was signed on Thursday, December 1, by University of Split Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., Dražen Čović, FINA’s Board president, prof. Branimir Lela Ph.D., acting dean of FESB, prof. Mile Dzelalija Ph.D., acting Dean of School of Medicine, Petar Pepur Ph.D., head of SOSS, and assoc. prof. Branka Marasović Ph.D., Faculty of Economics’ vice dean.

The signing was also attended by prof. Boris Maleš Ph.D., vice-rector for strategic management and planning; prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., vice-rector for teaching, students and business; Hrvoje Budimir, director of Split Regional Centre; Dario Belić, director of IT Service Development Department; Marko Smičić, head of Center for Developing Business and Mobile IT Solutions; Jerko Čulić, head of Split’s Development department; Ivana Stanić, HR Business Partner; and Antonia Peroš, head of University of Split’s Career Management Office.

In addition to professional practical work, according to president of managing board, Čović, Fina will open up many opportunities for students that facilitate entry to the labor market, such as student jobs and IT scholarships, which can eventually lead to employment in this institution.

Rector Ljutić expressed his satisfaction with signing this agreement, pointing out that synergy between science and economy is necessary for society’s development, and that investing in research and knowledge secures prerequisites for success.
